Confidentiality Policy for CPD Events

Participants to our events will come from many professional groups and registering bodies. We expect that everyone attending events, whether in-person or online, will adhere to the boundaries of confidentiality in relation to clinical material. This includes not repeating or sharing any confidential material, nor taking screenshots, audio, or any other electronic recording of events. We will include a statement about this on each event’s publicity and booking form, and as usual, this will be re-iterated at the event itself.

It is the responsibility of presenters at CPD events, including those at clinical seminars, to ensure that any clinical material is anonymized, with confidentiality as a priority. In some instances, presenters may be able to gain informed consent from patients. Anonymising can include using composite clinical material. If images are used, these must meet the same expectation of confidentiality, and if this cannot be met, presenters may need to describe images verbally or exclude such images from the presentation.

These actions are the responsibility of each speaker/presenter and not of MPDT Trustees.
