Life and Death: Loss and Mourning Across the Life Cycle

09.15-16.00. In-person registration begins 08.45 – and please note our slightly earlier finish time.

Saturday 11 July, St Thomas Centre, Ardwick Green North, Manchester M12 6FZ

Also online via Zoom – waiting room from 8.45am.

We are pleased to welcome everyone, online and in person, to this Manchester Psychoanalytic Development Trust conference.

Please see below for links and attachments which will ensure all participants have an optimum conference experience. Do print these items as required, as we will not be providing printed conference packs at the event.

If you are attending in person, you may be interested to know that we’ll be running a second-hand psychoanalytic bookstall to raise funds for our charity.  We can only accept cash, however, so please bear that in mind.  Donations of psychoanalytic books would be most welcome if you feel able to help us in our aim to make psychoanalytical learning more accessible.

If you are attending online, we will send you the Zoom link shortly before the event. If you don’t receive it by Thursday 9 July, please contact us.

Katharina, one of our trustees, will be available from 8.45am on conference day to assist online attenders, so please do let her know if you have any problems or queries (her contact details will be sent with your Zoom link).

We look forward to joining with you on 11 July for what promises to be a fascinating day

Afterwards

Please spare a moment to complete our feedback form and help us to improve future events.

We will send a CPD certificate (via email)  to all participants who attend on the day, both online and in-person.

As a result of feedback after our 2024 Conference, we’re delighted to be able to send you a link to recordings of the sessions as soon as possible after the event. You need to have booked your place via Ticketsource to receive the link. You’ll be able to watch at your convenience for a period of 14 days after receipt of the link.

And polite, but important reminders….

We would draw your attention to the strict confidentiality requirements in relation to attendance at this event. Please note that by attending this event, you are accepting these terms and agree to comply with these requirements.

Confidentiality Policy for CPD Events

Participants to our events will come from many professional groups and registering bodies. We expect that everyone attending events, whether in-person or online, will adhere to the boundaries of confidentiality in relation to clinical material. This includes not repeating or sharing any confidential material, nor taking screenshots, audio, or any other electronic recording of events. We will include a statement about this on each event’s publicity and booking form, and as usual, this will be re-iterated at the event itself.

It is the responsibility of presenters at CPD events, including those at clinical seminars, to ensure that any clinical material is anonymized, with confidentiality as a priority. In some instances, presenters may be able to gain informed consent from patients. Anonymising can include using composite clinical material. If images are used, these must meet the same expectation of confidentiality, and if this cannot be met, presenters may need to describe images verbally or exclude such images from the presentation.

These actions are the responsibility of each speaker/presenter and not of MPDT Trustees. For further information, please contact us at

Marion Lindsay, Chair MPDT

Filming

Please note that we (Manchester Psychoanalytic Development Trust) will be filming a live-stream of the conference presentations and speaker-audience discussions via a private link for event ticket-holders. Fixed cameras will be set up to film the presenters, but not members of the audience.

A recording of these presentations and discussions will be available to ticket-holders only for 14 days after the event. This will be hosted securely and password-protected. By entering the premises, you consent to the filming and its release as outlined above. If you do not consent, please let us know and we will make sure that your privacy is protected.
